Yesterday, our team wore denim in solidarity for Denim Day.
Denim Day traces back to a 1992 case in Italy, where a rape conviction was overturned based on the claim that tight jeans implied consent. The decision sparked global outrage, with women in the Italian Parliament wearing jeans in protest. That moment became a powerful symbol of challenging harmful myths and shifting the narrative back to where it belongs.
Denim Day continues to highlight the importance of respect, consent, and believing victim-survivors, a reminder of the role we all play in building a more connected and respectful Tasmania.
