Mental Health First Aid

1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental health problem in any given year. That means that every person is likely to know someone who is experiencing a mental health problem, whether that is a family member, a friend or colleague. In fact, mental illness is now said to affect every Australian either directly or indirectly.

The Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to provide initial support to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.

This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

Anyone can have a conversation that may save a life. Everyone should know how.

Please note this course is not a therapy or support group, it’s an education course to learn how to give first aid to others.
