What is Trauma and Counselling?

The team at Relationships Australia are experienced, qualified, and committed to supporting all people, including those with disability to work through their troubles. We’re friendly, open-minded and are great listeners. Our buildings and staff are safe for you to visit. We’ll work hard to understand the problems you’re experiencing and we’ll give you a toolkit to work with and help you to find the right solutions for your mental health and wellbeing.

The resources below are to help you understand trauma and how counselling can help.

No problem is too big or small we’re here to listen to ensure you are heard and understood.

Looking for help?

Want to talk to someone you can trust? Someone who will listen with heart and help you to make a change for the better? Relationships Australia is here for you. It is never too late to ask for help.

Concerned about someone else?

You may be the first person to notice someone having trouble, or maybe you, yourself, are experiencing trouble in your life. Learning about trauma helps empower you, empower those around you, and gives you the tools to recognise someone who may be struggling.

But most importantly it increases your ability to understand and talk about trauma with others in a safe and considerate way.

In the resources below, you’ll hear from trained professionals about each topic and hear from someone with a disability about their life experiences.

Everyone deserves to be heard and we’re ready and waiting to get you started on a “stronger, safer and happier you.”

We hope the resources on this page are helpful.
