Forced Adoption Support Service

The Forced Adoption Support Service provides compassionate support for people affected by past forced adoption practices.

If you or your family have been impacted, we are here to listen and walk alongside you. We offer a safe, free, and confidential space for mothers who were separated from their children, fathers affected by these practices, adopted people, and family members who would like to talk about their experiences.

Our team can support you to understand your history, search for records, and, where possible, trace or reconnect with family. We also provide counselling to help you work through trauma, grief, and loss, and can connect you with peer or group support if that feels right for you.

You can meet with us face to face, by phone, or via video. You choose the pace, and we will support you with care, respect, and understanding at every step.

Many people also value staying connected through our quarterly community newsletter, YourNewsletter. You can register below to receive updates and information.

This program is funded by the Australian Government, Department of Social Services.
