About John

John is a not-for-profit leader with 20 years in human services and 15 years in senior executive roles, passionate about human rights and social justice. With deep experience in strategy, growth, and major transformations—including leading Australia’s largest not-for-profit integration—John has worked across the Disability, Child Care, Welfare, Aged Care, and Employment sectors, and is also the founder and Principal Consultant of Bonorigo, supporting community organisations to strengthen strategy, governance and performance.

John brings 15 years’ experience in not-for-profit board governance, with a strong focus on values-led leadership, accountability, and sustainable service delivery. He has been a Director of Relationships Australia (Tasmania) for 3 years (including 2 years as Chair), and is currently a Director of Bonorigo and a Director of Collatus (disability services not-for-profit); previously, he was a Director of the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) of Tasmania for 8 years, including 2 years as Treasurer and 2 years as Vice Chair, and has served as an Executive Director of NDIS service delivery organisations.

John holds an MBA and graduate qualifications in Psychology and Computer Science, is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and has completed the Governance for Social Impact program.

About Carolyn

Carolyn is an accomplished senior executive with a strong background in the not for profit and charity sector. She brings deep experience in business administration, corporate governance and risk management, and has held key leadership roles including Chief Financial Officer, General Manager and Company Secretary. She is a strong advocate for sound administration, effective governance and thoughtful strategy development, believing these foundations are essential for any purpose driven organisation to thrive and deliver meaningful impact.

Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Business and is a Certified Practising Accountant. She is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Governance Institute and the Australian Institute of Community Directors.

Alongside her role as President of Launceston Volunteers for Community, Carolyn joined the RA Tas Board of Directors in 2022 and currently serves as Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.

For more than 40 years, Tony has worked as an entrepreneur dedicated to helping people understand who they are, what matters most to them, and the strategies that support their success. His work spans many sectors including pharmaceuticals, sport, entertainment, engineering, airlines, motoring, medical devices, for purpose organisations, start ups, financial services, manufacturing and construction.
His methodology is guided by data and research and shaped by decades of practical experience. At its core is a simple belief: when people and organisations activate a clear and authentic purpose, they become their best selves. This leads to meaningful work, connected teams and genuine trust, which in turn supports high performance and a stronger sense of contribution.

Tony chose to join the Relationships Australia Tasmania Board to gain a deeper understanding of the people and place of Tasmania and to actively contribute to shaping a community he is proud to live in. Through this work, he hopes to support a more connected, respectful and thriving Tasmania.

Laura is an experienced People and Capability leader with a strong business mindset and broad expertise across people and culture, remuneration, strategic planning, policy, governance, government business, industrial relations, major infrastructure projects, IT systems implementation and workforce development. She brings a thoughtful and practical approach to shaping organisational capability and supporting effective leadership.

Laura is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors course and has previously served as an Intern Director at TasPorts, adding valuable governance experience to her work.

She joined the RA Tas Board of Directors in October 2024 and is a member of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.

About Rachel

Rachel is a Somatic Practitioner and founder of Feeling Human, where she designs and delivers wellbeing programs grounded in nervous system regulation. Previously, she served as Head of People at Procreate and worked in executive search, partnering with leading Australian technology companies on talent strategy and leadership development.

Rachel brings governance experience from her leadership role at Procreate, where she designed and oversaw people systems, built talent and leadership development pathways, and supported executive decision-making during periods of rapid growth. She worked closely with CEOs, founders, and senior leaders on strategic planning, compliance, and organisational stewardship.

Rachel was appointed Intern Director in May 2025 and became a Director of the Board on 29 October 2025. She is also a member of the Strategic Pathways subcommittee.
